  • Transgenic ES-like cells were injected into preimplantation embryos and transferred into surrogate mothers
  • Six out of seven animals born were found onimeric for at least one tissue and overall onimerism was detected in derivatives from the three germ layers: actoderm, mesoderm and endoderm
  • In bovine, embryonic pluripotent cells can be generated from somatic cells

  • Differentiation was induced by injection of cell into immuno-deficient mice
  • Two months after injection, teratomas were produced that included bone, muscle, gut, kidney neurons
  • For transplantation therapies, a pure population of cells must be obtained
